SANParks: Cape Town's Sandy Bay Has Never Been Formally Designated a Naturist Beach

South African National Parks says Sandy Bay, part of Table Mountain National Park, is not and has not been formally designated a naturist beach. The statement responds to nude sunbathers who say visitors were recently harassed. SANParks says rangers have not been told to target naturists and are carrying out routine patrols to enforce park rules. Naturists argue that decades of use make it an informal naturist space, and note that the city promoted it that way in the mid-1990s. The agency says new signage is under legal review.
